Tutor helping struggling child with math and science
The first day of a new school year is almost here and there are many things you have to take care of. Buying school supplies and new clothes is important, yet you also have to provide your children with the tools they need to succeed.

Fortunately, there is still plenty of time to prepare your children for back to school, and if you don’t know where to start, don’t worry! At The Tutoring Center in Bear, we would like to share a few useful ideas with you.

Adjust Internal Clocks

Your children changed their sleeping and feeding patterns after going to bed late and sleeping in through the whole summer. You can readjust their internal clocks by sending them to bed and waking them up earlier at least 2 weeks before school starts. Also, start adapting their meal schedules with the ones from school, that way they won’t be hungry during class.

Study Environment

Academic success starts at home and your children need a place where they feel comfortable to do their homework. Find a place in your house where you can add a table and a chair, and remember to remove any potential distractions. Also, create a study schedule and establish clear rules.

Visit the School

The best way to meet your children’s teacher is attending the orientation sessions, where you can also get to know other parents and establish an open communication with them. If it’s the first time you visit the school, it’s also a good opportunity to find out the best route and so your children can get to know the facilities.

It’s normal that your children feel nervous during the first day, make sure to talk to them about their worries.

These simple ideas will make that first day at school easier. You should also follow this guide to help them keep an organized backpack
