How to Reduce Procrastination while Studying

  1. First of all, you need to set an environment that's conducive to focusing and learning. To that end, have a space that's free of distractions, that has appropriate furniture, that's equipped with the right study material and supplies, and that's well-lit.
  2. Next, you need to make sure that you focus. To that end, establish a schedule for your study sessions. Know what you have to do, and set a timeframe to work on each thing.
  3. Likewise, you can set goals for said study sessions. As long as they're specific and doable, these will give you a clear direction to work towards.
  4. If you need extra motivation, use incentives to help you keep your focus and thwart off procrastination. For instance, if you finish all of your assignments on time, you can have a dessert with dinner.
  5. Lastly, as stated above, nobody can focus on one thing for extended time. To beat your mind to the punch and keep it from procrastinating, take 5 minute breaks every couple of hours when studying.
